The bilateral workshop took place under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in the presence of the UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Dr. Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Jaber.
Representatives from large companies from both countries, mainly involved in the energy, technology, digital, health, construction and IT sectors, participated in the work.

Among the Greek participants were the CEO of HELLENiQ ENERGY Andreas Shiamisis, the President and CEO of PEC George Stassis, the Vice President and CEO of PEC Renewables Konstantinos Mavros, Christos Copelouzos, the head of GEK Terna George Peristeris, the CEO of DEPA Konstantinos Xifaras, the President of the Medical Center Vasilis Apostolopoulos and the CEO of Eurobank Fokion Karavias.
During the meeting of the delegations, the renewal of the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement between Greece and the United Arab Emirates was announced, through an exchange of verbal communications.
The strong strategic partnership between Greece and the UAE – founded in 2020 – and the mutual will to further deepen economic and investment cooperation were reaffirmed, following the Prime Minister’s last visit to the UAE and his meeting with the President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in Abu Dhabi on February 27.
The direct investment target of 4 billion in the Greek economy, which was set in 2022 with the Strategic Investment Cooperation Agreement between the Hellenic Development Bank, the Hellenic Development Investment Bank and the UAE sovereign wealth fund ADQ, has already been exceeded.
