The plan for carbon credits

The economic staff is examining a new institutional framework that will allow a more “green” exploitation of land as well as new lending terms of the agricultural sector.

Carbon Credits, through the operation of the Agricultural Economy Exchange, will operate on a trial basis together with financial institutions and the Capital Market, while at the same time the new institutional framework is being formed.
More specifically, smart crops should be paid in the same way as industries that pollute less, while polluting crops should somehow pay for it.

Therefore, the design of a stock exchange platform, which will cooperate with an international stock exchange for this purpose, is planned and a consultant has been appointed in order to submit his proposals.

What are carbon credits?

Carbon credits, also known as carbon offsets, are permits that allow the owner to emit a certain amount of carbon dioxide or other greenhouse gases. One credit allows the emission of one tonne of carbon dioxide or the equivalent in other greenhouse gases.
